Date: 19.9.2024 od 20:00 hodin

We cordially invite you to another in our series of jazz concerts and on Thursday 19 September at 8:00 pm at Beseder Gallery we will once again welcome the amazing Daniel Bulatkin

Current winner of the OSA Jazz Composition of the Year Competition - pianist Daniel Bulatkin - presents his international project "Elysium" at the only Prague concert, with which he continues to the Budapest Jazz Festival. In his most personal project to date, he charts his coming of age from pandemonium through life abroad. He will play the program with a truly exclusive European line-up:

David Dorůžka - guitarist, multiple Anděl award winner and the most acclaimed Czech jazzman abroad; he plays in Grammy winner Tineke Postma's project "Aria", as well as: Jeff Ballard, Kendrick Scott, Tigran Hamasyan...

Alon Near - award-winning Israeli double bassist straddling Tel-Aviv and New York; after graduating from the prestigious New School for Jazz, he became a sideman for Grammy winner Billy Childs, as well as Eli Degibri, Adam Nussbaum, Lynne Arriale...

Marc Michel - the in-demand cosmopolitan drummer and composer originally from France is best known as a dynamic and creative sideman for the highest circles of European modern jazz; collaborations include Gilad Hekselman, Ben Wendel, Jasper Høiby, Josh Ginsburg...

Centred around mythological themes of renewal and resurrection, Daniel Bulatkin’s new group “Elysium” performs original music at the cutting edge of today’s contemporary jazz. With inspiration drawn from a very eclectic pool of sources (musical and non-musical alike), Daniel brings forth a very personal story of growing into adulthood as a young emerging artist in today’s day and age – reflecting on current events, as well as the ups and downs of his own life.

The group delivers strong memorable melodies and delicate soundscapes, balanced by high-energy interplay and virtuoso performances by the very best on the European jazz scene. Building upon the concept of his previous group B/Y Organism, Daniel expands the sound palette of the acoustic quartet by using light synthesizers, rhodes and samples, truly bringing his music into the 21st century.
