Beseder Gallery

Date: 29.9. od 19:00 hodin

Come to Beseder Gallery on Monday, September 29, at 7 p.m. for a guided tour of the exhibition 1+2 with all the artists.

Jaroslav Fišer invited two younger artists—his former students—to participate in this exhibition project. Ondřej Přibyl belongs to the first generation of his students from the time when he taught at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. Matyáš Páleníček, on the other hand, is one of the youngest graduates of the Michael School, where Fišer currently teaches.

The connecting motif for all three authors is the landscape, to which each of them relates in a different way. In his work, Jaroslav Fišer seeks out grotesque and often bizarre interventions in the contemporary landscape that radically transform its character. Ondřej Přibyl, on the other hand, is fascinated by industrial objects set in the landscape, which he captures using one of the oldest photographic techniques – daguerreotype. Using this method, he creates images that appear mysterious and carry a strange tension. Matyáš Páleníček embarks on a journey of imagination: in his studio, he uses illusion and staging to construct his own fantastical landscapes.

All three exhibiting artists will meet with interested visitors at the end of the exhibition, when they will personally present their works during a guided tour and answer questions from the audience.
